In the heart of downtown Clearwater, thousands gear up for a special event. Imagine, if you will, from youth to adult, spectating a slurry of epic races. Yes, the Achieva Box Car Rally 2019 is set to surpass any previous years’ excitement.
It’s a family-friendly race to the finish, and best of all it’s free. Below is what you need to know.
Time and place
The Achieva Box Car Rally 2019 is on Saturday, October 5th. The event will be held from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in downtown Clearwater. The starting line begins at the intersection of Cleveland Steet & Osceola Avenue.
Parking
Event parking is free. You may park in the lower Harborview Center parking lot. Overflow parking availability is at the Garden Avenue parking garage. Vehicles pulling trailers should park in the City Hall parking lot, located at 112 S. Osceola Avenue.
Please do not park at the Clearwater Public Library, as it is not permitted.
Games and attractions
In addition to the speedway, families may participate in a variety of activities. Bounce houses, carnival games, and balloon artists are just a few of the side attractions. You’ll find these, and more, at the Kids Fun Zone at the bottom of the hill.
Food
Select your favorite foods from Tampa Bay’s finest vendors. All food and beverage purchases can be made using cash or debit/credit cards. ATM’s will also be onsite.
Who will be racing?
Racers zoom approximately 530 feet in under 18 seconds. There are six classes in each car division.
– Pee Wee: Drivers between the ages of 7-12.
– Teen: Drivers between the ages of 13-17.
– Adult: Drivers over the age of 18.
– High School: Drivers with cars that represent a high school team.
– Corporate: Drivers with cars that represent a business or organizational team.
– Auto League: Drivers with cars that represent a business within the automotive industry.
